Rose Tyler

In 1989 Rose started teaching woodwind initially at the Army Junior School of Music in Bovington and went on to deliver woodwind lessons for a number of organisations in the state and private sector including Surrey County Music Service (now Surrey Arts).  In 1994 she decided to work from home and set up a private teaching practice that continues to this day.

Rose is just as happy teaching adults or children and has covered the age range from five year olds (initially on recorder) to ninety year olds.  She is happy to prepare students for ABRSM or Trinity College of Music exams.  Rose has a 100% pass record with both examination boards.  She is also happy to teach pupils not wishing to take exams.

Rose’s two passions growing up were cooking and music.  As a result her first career was in catering where she held a number of appointments including head of shift in the diet section at Frimley Park Hospital, running the officers mess kitchens at the Parachute Regiment depot in Aldershot and managing the catering for a group of primary schools in Surrey.  On meeting and marrying her husband Len, she taught him how to cook and he taught her how to teach music.  I suppose you could call this a recipe for a harmonious marriage.

Rose lives just outside Camberley with her husband, two grown up daughters, one son in law, four dogs and eight chinchillas.  One daughter is a vet ..!  She keeps her playing skills up to scratch playing with two award winning wind bands and a woodwind chamber ensemble.

Woodwind lessons are delivered in a purpose built music studio where all the facilities are easily to hand.  There is on site parking
